Individual in-office sessions maximize privacy.
In-Home and Phone Sessions
Individual in-home and phone sessions will be assessed for appropriateness by the therapist at the time of inquiry. In-home sessions are only offered to those who meet clinical criteria and medical necessity. Phone sessions can take place after an initial in-person assessment and evaluation.
Walk + Talk Sessions
These sessions can take place almost anywhere. The therapist and client will select a location together based on safety, discretion, and ambiance.
walk + talk therapy
I could walk a mile in your shoes, but I already know they’re just as uncomfortable as mine. Let’s walk next to each other instead . . .
Walk + Talk therapy fits easily into your daily routine. Research has confirmed that “walk and talk” therapy can lessen symptoms of depression and anxiety, encourage positive changes in behavior, and improve mental clarity. Being in a serene setting calms the mind and allows faster access to emotions.
Walk + Talk therapy locations include places like Phoenix Mountain Preserve, Scottsdale/Arcadia Canal, Scottsdale Greenbelt, Granada Park, and Chaparral Park.
Before we begin Walk + Talk sessions and decide on a location, we will meet in-office for an intake session, where we will discuss issues of confidentiality, safety, and discretion when encountering other people.
Who could benefit from Walk + Talk Therapy?
Individuals may benefit who . . .
are looking for an alternative to the in-office session but want to maintain the in-person therapeutic approach;
would like to create a significant change in their lifestyle by incorporating physical movement, talk therapy, healthy habits, and positivity; and
would benefit from the meditative and energizing effects of walking in nature and getting fresh air.
Benefits include . . .
clearer thought processes and open-minded brainstorming abilities,
a decrease in symptoms of depression and anxiety,
feeling less inhibited and more in touch with feelings,
an increase in confidence and feelings of empowerment and mastery, and
the reinforcement of the use of walking as a healthy coping mechanism.
